Gwendoline
Named after Mrs Gwen Bishop, wife of the president of the National Sweet Pea Society, this lovely sweet pea was bred by David Kerley (Unwins), and won the the F. C. Harriss award for the best seedling of 1998. It also won the RHS Award of Garden Merit in the same year. Classed as a magenta by the NSPS, but perhaps more a bright pink; either way it is a superb variety and a consistent winner on the show bench. In addition, it has the true sweet pea scent.
One of the very finest sweet peas available, and highly recommended or exhibition, garden and fragrance.
