There are many species of Lathyrus which grow wild in Europe, Asia, North America and South America. Not all are worth cultivating by anyone except the most ardent enthusiast, and some are notoriously difficult to cultivate. There are, however, several species, both annual and perennial, which have much to offer in the informal cottage garden. Few can rival the cultivated sweet pea for size of flower or richness of fragrance, but some of the smaller species have an irresistible charm of their own and the perennial species are often quite spectacular when in full flower. We are pleased to offer seed of a small but expanding selection of both annual and perennial species.
